Objectives

By the end of this presentation. participants will be able to

  • Describe the sonographic appearance of normal and abnormal total hip arthroplasty components, including expected postoperative findings and implant related artifacts

  • Differentiate between mechanical and infectious etiologies of hip pain in the postoperative arthroplasty patient using ultrasound features

  • Demonstrate the role of ultrasound-guided procedures in the evaluation and management of total hip arthroplasty complications including aspiration and injection techniques
