Friday May 2, 2025

8:30-9:30 am: REGISTRATION

9:00-10:00 am: Scanning Session – Ask us anything. 

10:00-10:15 am: Introduction: What the groin is to the hip – the missing link 

10:15-10:45 am: Point of care hip 

10:45 – 11:15 am: Instrumentation and artifacts 

11:15-11:45 am: Hip tendon and bursal anatomy 

11:45-1:00 pm: LUNCH

1:00-1:30 pm: Hip capsule, synovium, and ligaments 

1:30-2:00 pm: Hip and groin, vessels, and nerves 

2:00-2:30 pm:  Groin anatomy – femoral and inguinal canal and the spigelian fascia 

2:30-3:00 pm Joint arthroplasty –the synthetic anatomy 

3:00-3:30 pm Thigh anatomy 

3:30-5:00 pm Put it all to practice – Scanning Session

5:00- 7:00 pm:  RECEPTION

8:00-8:30 am: HIP AND GROIN- The complete examination 

8:30-9:00 am: Hip pathology – nerves 

9:00-9:30 am: Demonstration of a complete examination 

9:30-10:00 am: Hip Pathology – tendons, bursae, ligaments and cartilage 

10:00-10:30 am TEATIME

10:30 – 11:00 am: Tendon Snapping and instability 

11:00 -11:30 am: General principles of US intervention 

11:30-12:00 am:  Accreditation – Another feather on your hat 

12:00-12:30 noon: Tenex, Tenjet, Ablation, Orthobiologics and Percutaneous treatment 

12:30-1:00 pm LUNCH

1:00-1:30 pm: Hip joint and bursal injections 

1:30-2:00 pm: Tendon injections 

2:00-2:30 pm: From nerve diagnosis to ablation 

2:30-6:00 pm: Scanning with opportunity for needle practice 

Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant will:

  • Identify the normal anatomy of the hip and groin on greyscale static and dynamic ultrasound.

  • Perform specific ultrasound tests that help increase the accuracy of diagnosis of hip articular disease, tendon and muscle pathology, and hernia.

Target Audience

  • Directed towards Sonographers, Physicians, Athletic Trainers, and Physiotherapists
