
Hip pain from a Spigelian hernia
By Marnix van Holsbeeck, MDAfter a strenuous digging effort, this patient felt a “rip” in his groin and developed what he called “hip pain”. The hernia is recognized by a discontinuity of the fascial plane between the oblique and transverse abdominal muscles and the rectus abdominis.
