Course Overview

The essentials of an adult hip evaluation. The course focuses on hip anatomy, and on osseous and soft tissue landmarks that help us navigate the hip.


Course Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify normal hip anatomy on ultrasound, including bony landmarks, joint capsule, muscles, tendons, and neurovascular structures

  2. Perform a standardized hip ultrasound examination, using appropriate probe selection, positioning, and scanning techniques


Target Audience

Professionals who are confronted with patients who experience occasional or intermittent intense hip pain as a result of sports or daily activities.

Physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, athletic trainers, physical therapists
